	New challenges and solutions for XAS data analysis part II - FEFF and IFEFFIT for XANES and EXAFS analysis April 14-17, 2015 Location: Institute of Physics Polish Academy of Sciences Al. Lotników 32/46 02-668 Warsaw, Poland The invited lecturers are: Dr. Bruce Ravel, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Upton NY Dr. Micah Prange, Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, Richland WA The workshop will be focused on the FEFF 9 and IFEFFIT programs used for the X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES) and Extended X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (EXAFS) analysis. Analysis of the XANES region allows to get information about angular arrangement of the atoms in the investigated system. Analysis of EXAFS part provides information about local atomic order around investigated element in the system. Coordination number, kind of atoms and structural disorder are the output from the analysis. Seminars and "hands-on computer" trainings will be organized. All participants are required to bring their own laptops to the workshop for use in the tutorial sessions. There is no registration fee. The list of participants is closed. Lotników 32/46 02-668 Warsaw, Poland The principles of MXAN and the data analysis training session will be given by one of the creators and developers of the code: Dr. Keisuke Hatada, Università di Camerino The workshop aims at improving know-how on analysis of the X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES) data. Analysis of this region of X-ray absorption spectrum allows to get information about angular arrangement of the atoms in the investigated system. During the workshop the lectures about X-ray Absorption and theory behind MXAN as well as "hands-on computer" trainings are planned. All participants are required to bring their own laptops to the workshop for use in the tutorial sessions. There is no registration fee. The list of participants is closed. The workshop will start around 11 a.m. on Tuesday 8^th and finish around 13.30 on Friday 11^th.
